How my service works
Send your document to me. I DO NOT ACCEPT ORIGINAL HANDWRITTEN DOCUMENTS because they must first be typed up and edited.
I then either highlight errors and leave written notes in the margin or utilise BSI proof-correction marks confirming to BS5261C:2005 (the current UK standard).
Open communication with my clients is not only encouraged but necessary to ensure that the full meaning of the document is maintained throughout the process and the individual’s ‘voice’ is not lost.
I undertake to mark or correct actual errors – I will never impose my own voice onto your work.
Proof Reading Prices
I like to keep things simple. It’s true, different texts take differing lengths of time to proof, but I want to remain fair to all and easily understood.
What do you get for your hard earned money? A last line of defence against all errors. Spellcheck will spot an incorrect spelling but it won’t notice a wrong or out of context word. As good as Grammarly and Microsoft Word may be, they do not always have the courage of their convictions and may only make suggestions. They also don’t know your ‘voice’ and turn of phrase.
